Testing before going live is critical to ensuring your store runs smoothly from day one. It allows you to catch and fix any issues with machine connections, payment flows, or user experience before real customers interact with your system. This not only prevents negative first impressions but also helps avoid revenue loss and support calls caused by unexpected problems.
Important: Even if an installer has set up the machines and payment systems for you, it is crucial that you run the tests yourself.
Trial Mode vs. Live Mode
Trial Mode
Your store is in testing mode – no real payment transactions will be processed.
Ideal for testing both the Kiosk and Mobile Pay platforms.
Live Mode
Your store is fully active and ready to accept real payments.
All transactions via Kiosk or Mobile Pay will be charged and recorded.
Machines will operate as expected.
Make sure you only switch to Live Mode when you are done testing during Trial Mode.
How to Test
Test During Trial Mode
1. Start in Trial Mode
Make sure both your Kiosk and Mobile Pay show "Trial Mode" at the top or bottom of the screen. This ensures no real payments are processed.
2. Select A Machine
Select a washer or dryer to start a test cycle.
3. Follow the Checklist Below
Make sure the following things are working correctly:
Correct PricesThe prices shown on the Kiosk and Mobile App should match what each machine actually charges.
Right Machine Gets CreditIf you choose Washer 1 (Hot Wash) for $7, make sure Washer 1 receives exactly $7 and not a different machine.
Dryer Time is AccurateIf you select 30 minutes for Dryer 1, it should show exactly 30 minutes once the cycle starts.
Top-Up Time for Dryers is Added ProperlyWhile a dryer is running, try adding more time (e.g. $1 for 5 minutes). Make sure those 5 extra minutes are displayed on the machine.
4. Repeat for All Machines
To ensure all machines are credited correctly, repeat the steps above for all machines.
Test During Live Mode (Final Check!)
If you have both a Kiosk and Mobile Pay, run a transaction on both.
1. Switch to Live Mode
In the Tangerpay Portal, go to Sites > Go Live and click the Go Live button. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

2. Check You Are Not on Trial Mode
After going live, check that your Kiosk and Mobile Pay do not show "Trial Mode" on the screens.
3. Select a Machine to Test
On both the Tangerpay Kiosk and Mobile Pay, select a dryer and choose the shortest dry time available (e.g. $1 for 5 minutes).
4. Make a Payment
Complete the payment with your debit/credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or any of the available payment methods.
5. Confirm Everything Works
The payment should be successful
The correct machine should start
If a dryer was selected, the correct dry time (e.g. 5 minutes) should appear on the machine.
Find your store in the list of Site Names and click the Go Live button.

3. Send Yourself the Remote Start Code
Enter your phone number. You will receive a text message with your store’s Remote Start Code and unique site URL.

4. Save the Message
Check your phone! Be sure to save this message somewhere safe as you’ll need this code to test machines or remotely start them in the future.

5. You’re Now Live!
